SERTACONAZOLE 2% W/W
Sertaconazole belongs to the imidazole class of antifungal drugs. It is used to treat fungal infections such as athlete’s foot. It is indicated to treat tinea pedis in immunocompromised patients of 12 years of age. They work by slowing the growth of fungi.

Mechanism of Action
Sertaconazole inhibits cytochrome P-450 enzyme i.e. 14-alpha demethylase which involves in the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Ergosterol is the component of fungal cell membrane. Sertaconazole inhibits the endogenous respiration and transformation of yeast to mycelial forms.
